Frequently asked questions

1. The dashboard shows "Awaiting data" or few events

On first launch CyberMap ingests all public intelligence feeds directly on your device — this takes about 10–30 seconds on a normal connection. Pull down to refresh. If you are offline, the app shows the cached corpus with a "Last synchronized" banner instead of pretending to be live.

2. Some providers show "KEY REQUIRED"

CyberMap works out of the box with ~10 no-key sources (CISA KEV, EPSS, NVD, SANS ISC, Ransomware.live, OpenPhish, Spamhaus DROP, blocklist.de, CINS, Emerging Threats). Four abuse.ch services (Feodo Tracker, ThreatFox, URLhaus, MalwareBazaar) require a free Auth-Key from auth.abuse.ch; AlienVault OTX and AbuseIPDB also offer free keys. Paste them in Settings → API Keys — they are stored only in your device Keychain.

3. What does CyberMap Pro include?

A one-time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks: watchlists with real-time alerts, the incident workspace (SOC/CSIRT), IOC export (CSV, JSON, STIX 2.1), SOC Mode command console, the AI Cyber Analyst, and My Cyber Exposure. The free tier keeps the live map, dashboard, stream and CVE intelligence — with real data.

4. I purchased Pro but features are locked

Open Settings → Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account used for the purchase. If it persists, contact us with your purchase receipt (no personal data needed).

5. Is the data real? Where does it come from?

Yes — CyberMap never simulates attacks. Every record shows its provider, source link, timestamps and confidence in the Provenance section. Sources are legitimate public threat-intelligence feeds; see the full list in-app under Settings → Legal & data sources.

6. How do I delete my data?

Everything lives on your device. Settings → Clear intelligence cache / Clear search history, or simply delete the app — that removes all data including Keychain-stored API keys. CyberMap has no accounts and no servers of its own; there is nothing to delete elsewhere. See the Privacy Policy.

7. The map shows a marker in my country — am I under attack?

Markers are country-level aggregations of observed network origins (IP geolocation of reported infrastructure). They identify infrastructure, not persons, and do not mean you personally are targeted.
